Recently, someone described my artwork as "... a visual walk through the woods or a field. Her pieces capture moments from nature in realistic detail. Sometimes playful, sometimes soulful."
That description made my heart happy.
When I narrow my focus to where and when I am happiest, then creating artwork becomes a whole lot of fun. I am most inspired by nature. Birds, animals, stone walls, leaf patterns, driftwood and shells are all little found treasures.
These are the things I see as I walk through the woods or a field. And I capture them with watercolor, colored pencils, gouache and sometimes ink. I work with some beautiful art supplies on a heavy watercolor paper.
They're not large canvases. They're small-ish paintings that feel to me like snapshots or studies... you know... "moments from nature".
